It is the person allowed to make medical decisions for you if you cannot make them yourself. Sometimes called a healthcare proxy. If you were unconscious in an emergency room, that is the first thing they would try to find out. Tick the box on that person in Your care team. Ticking it here does not create the legal document. It tells anyone reading your record who to call.
